Blue Is the Colour


The world of football is a very fluid place, with players and managers regularly on the move. This year sees Chelsea Football Club with a new kit sponsor (Nike) and the knowledge that work on their new stadium will begin next year.


We have been commissioned by CFC to refurbish the entrance to the current Stadium Tour & Museum area. This was a space that we completely designed and built over 5 years ago.

At the time the brief was to create a satellite retail store to the main megastore and an entry point for the museum. In 2017 our brief was to change this whole area into just a holding space for customers before they start their museum tour.

Budgets were fairly tight as this is seen as lasting for a couple of seasons at most, after which the museum building is due to be torn down to make way for the foundations of the new stadium. The project was also fast tracked, taking only 6 weeks from concept to completion.




Key features included:

  • The removal of 2 areas of retail fixturing (in the window and along a key wall) and replacement with 4 x display podiums and a large 3D display wall exposing the international reach of CFC - "The World of Chelsea FC". This contains many items of memorabilia collected from around the world.
  • The introduction of 'real' CFC stadium seating on bleachers to allow customers to sit whilst waiting for the next tour to begin, meanwhile watching some classic games on some suspended monitors.
  • The introduction of a new green screen area for customers to have pictures taken with the Premiership trophy.
